Hillsboro is the fifth-largest city in the state of Oregon, and is the county seat of Washington County.  Situated on the west side of the Portland metro region, Hillsboro hosts many high-tech companies, like Intel, which gives the area the name The Silicon Forest.

The Atfalati tribe of the Kalapuya lived in this area for thousands of years due to the moderate climate from the Pacific Ocean, making the region suitable for fishing, hunting, and agriculture, .  Settlers later moved into the area in 1842 and later named the area after David Hill, a local politician.

Today, Hillsboro is a vibrant community of many diverse populations, and is a desirable place to move for those in the tech industry. The outer areas of Hillsboro include parks and several wineries.
