First developed by the Tualatin Development Company in 1964, King City is an incorporated planned community for adults aged 55 and over, King City covers approximately 273 acres  The community was built by the Tualatin Development Company starting in 1964. The community now has certain sections with non-age restrictions.  The city is nestled between the Tualatin River and the base of Bull Mountain.

Because of its location at the edge of Portland’s Urban Growth Boundary, King City’s proximity to natural areas and vibrant social amenities make it a desirable location to move to.
