Team members at The Move Makers are passionate about helping clients in communities in and around Portland, Oregon successfully navigate the process of moving. Each team member brings positive energy and an abundance of experience to each move so that no detail is left undone.
Hi, I’m Carolyn and I founded The Move Makers in 2013. I have always been passionate about creating systems to move projects forward, but this business has given me the chance to combine three things I absolutely love; building a business, helping people and, of course, organizing things.
When I started The Move Makers, my goal was to bring organization to one of the most challenging organizing projects of all – moving – and transform what many think is a difficult process into a simple, stress-free experience. Whether it’s packing, unpacking, or making difficult decisions about what to leave behind when you move, I wanted to make the process easy and even fun.
I’m pretty qualified too. I have been a professional organizer and systems developer for many years, bringing order to nonprofits, small businesses, estates and busy families. I have served as President of the National Association of Professional Organizers, Oregon Chapter and am a Member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers and the Portland Relocation Council. I recently earned the SMM-C Certificate for Senior Move Management and I am always striving to learn and improve business systems and standards.
But it’s really not just about me. I’ve employed a team of talented, hands-on, enthusiastic move makers to help me. Together, we’d love to help make your next move an easy and enjoyable experience.
We don’t know what we would do without our technical guru and organizing expert, Maia. When she is not helping Carolyn simplify systems for The Move Makers, solving problems for our clients, or helping with a move, she can be found experimenting in her kitchen, exploring Portland, or practicing yoga.
Team member Jill Viglione is a talented organizer, originally from upstate New York. She loves helping people! When not moving The Move Makers projects forward, she enjoys gardening, cooking challenging foods for friends (cherpumples and turduckens), and searching out the best breakfast spots in Portland (over 40 so far!).
Move Manager Jennifer Campbell brings her artistic flair to all of our organizing projects. She has been an organizer for over 10 years, with a background in interior design. When not working with her friends at The Move Makers, she is creating jewelry in her studio.
Team member Candy Smith is a born organizer and kept things neat & tidy for 34 years at Nike, adidas & Esprit. When not packing and unpacking for our clients at The Move Makers, she can be found hiking, traveling or working out at her favorite gym. Cherished pet: Nisa, her beautiful and loving Siamese cat.
Team Member Cathy Sevier is a long time organizer who is also a ranking Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, with whom she served for 36 years. Whether it be swimming, bicycling, or practicing yoga, Cathy loves being active. In her downtime, she can be found beading jewelry, reading, and spending time with her children and grandson.
Originally from Finland, Paivi has over 20 years of experience in interior design, and more than 7 years of experience with feng shui, professional organizing, and sustainable home design.
